Custom Manu Amazon Tour 4 Days

We’ll travel hours to Posada Manu Rainforest, about 13 hours making stops to hike, have lunch, and visit points of interest. This is just the beginning of our adventure, passing curves, potholes, tunnels and beautiful vistas.

From there we’ll board our private boat and travel 2 hours upriver to enjoy river tubing for about 1.5 hours. We’ll spend one night at Robles Tree House. The following nights we spend at Posada Manu Rainforest.

Day 01: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Posada Manu Rainforest

We’ll pick you up at your hotel at 4:00 a.m. to start our busy day of travel and tour. We have much to see and lots to do! It’s a day full of picturesque visits, starting with the beautiful chullpas of Ninamarca (pre-Inca tombs); then Paucartambo an impressive colonial town with historic bridges and buildings. From there we will make our way to Acjanaco, paving the way to the entry of the biosphere of Manu National Park with its impressive cloud forest: home to wild bromeliads, orchids and colorful birds (Rupicola peruviana), woolly and capuchin monkeys, as well as colorful butterflies and rare insects. In the afternoon we will arrive on the banks of the river Alto Madre de Dios where we will leave the minivan. Here waiting for us is a traditional wooden boat to cruise the river watching for birds and river creatures until we reach our comfortable hostel in the jungle.

Overnight in Posada Manu Rainforest.

Day 02: Posada Manu Rainforest - Robles Tree House

Our ecological tours at Robles Tree House offer excellent experiences full of adventure and awe at the untamed virgin forest and its inhabitants of the great Amazon basin. After breakfast we travel by boat 45 minutes via Rio Palotoa to reach Robles Tree House. Once we arrive we will have time available to explore the heart of our ecological reserve. The evening is reserved for a night walk in search of creatures such as: snakes, amphibians, spiders and monkeys. In the darkness of night we’ll have the spectacle of fireflies lighting up the sky and shadows of bats attracted by our lanterns. Most certainly we’ll see timid tarantulas that go out hunting in the dark and sparkling stars that light our way.

Overnight in Robles Tree House and private reserve.

Day 03: Parrot and Macaw Clay Lick, River Tubing & River Swimming

Today for our morning activity, we will wake up at 5:00 a.m. At 5:20 a.m. we will begin our watch for the meeting of hundreds of parrots, parakeets and dazzling macaws (Aras) that come to feed on the mineral-rich clay at the clay lick (colpa) on the river. Capybaras and monkeys often pay a visit, jumping on the edge of the forest. Toucans and woodpeckers make colorful displays as they fly over our heads to reach the other side of the forest. After breakfast we have yet more trails to explore. Midday we will celebrate with a typical lunch accompanied by a well-deserved beer. Then you have the option to take a refreshing swim in the river, to escape the heat and enjoy a new view of the jungle. From the river it’s easy to spy monkeys and exotic birds. Those who do not want to swim can make use of our very relaxing hammocks. In the afternoon we return to Posada Manu Rainforest on the river tubing.

Once we arrive and you are installed in your room, you can join a night walk in search of alligators, armadillos, and nocturnal monkeys; and many unusual insects.

Overnight in Posada Manu Rainforest.

Day 04: Posada Manu Rainforest - Cusco

Today is a long travel day in minivan back to Cusco. From the vehicle you can still enjoy the different landscapes that this jungle and mountain passage offers. Photo opportunities abound. We will arrive back at Cusco’s Plaza de Armas at about 5:30 p.m. With big thanks and a warm hug we will say goodbye but only until the next time, because we truly hope to see you again!

The meeting point or pick up will be at your Cusco hotel, our Guide will meet you with our private minivan.

The tour begins and ends in the city of Cusco. If you're based outside of Cusco in Pisac, Urubamba or Ollantaytambo for example, you will be picked up much earlier to be brought to the city of Cusco to join the tour at its departure point. Please contact us to coordinate. This will have an additional cost, and schedule of pick up will be arranged.

Pick up time is bright and early, at 4:00 in the morning, to give us more time to enjoy the places of interest on the way. And, leaving early we also take advantage of the fresh morning to see more wildlife on the way. Leaving early we also avoid traffic and other tour groups crowding our way.

We normally run this tour from March to December (summer). Keep in mind rain is always possible.
